I love this game back in the day

My sons and I had a blast playing this game when the pandemic was at its worst. I worked from home and heard them from lunch until I got off screaming with laughter. I got the 3rd controller and was met with Toad Chambeau. The snow sledding level had my sides hurting I was laughing so hard.

I legit really enjoy this game and it's absurdity, any time I get an arcade game playing setup, its the first game I play!

This is the very last game I bought blind. I bought it day one. I read no reviews or anything. I bought it with the presumption it was going to have better graphics but same gameplay. Boy was I wrong. Everything Matt said is true. It was s low clunky mess. I played it 15 minutes and never again.

I'm pretty sure Billy is a reference to "Custer's Revenge". His hat and nose make me think of that character.

That single-button special move mechanic seems a lot like the designer's way of lowering the execution barrier rather than it being meant as a sort of resource for EX specials. Just put in a quarter to try the game but don't know any special moves? Pick one to use with a simple press of a button!

13:17 note: the source code itself could not be in russian lol, it needs to be in a programming language the comments to it might be in russian though [weird, so far I feel like most programmers in russia write comments in english bc, well, what if you need to work with foreign programmers YOU KNOW] either way with a translator [real or tool] it shouldn't be a big issue. the real issue probably is that: 1. from the story described in the video, the code of the game is probably a terrible mess. A lot of production code is a terrible mess, but with this history this is just hell. A hell in an unfammiliar enviroment that was made by a different team with 0 people to teach you how to work with it. 2. postal 2 and 4 are made in unreal engine, which is very much unrelated to source in any way. I'm pretty sure they might either use completely different programming languages, or different approaches in programming. 3. postal 4 is actually good in concept and wanted by people, rws is and always will be an indie studio so they can't just spread thin [and don't forget: the stuff a dev would learn while working on p3 wouldn't be usefull for p4 because of the programming differences]. 4. nobody cares about postal 3 either way, and they can't even earn money from it. So, why not just make a new game where you can innovate and bring something people want, and not revise some ancient shit.

I knew about the rivalry between SEGA's American and Japanese branches, but I didn't know that even Eternal Champions and Virtua Fighter got caught into it... ...come to think of it, a Virtua Fighter vs. Eternal Champions crossover would be quite interesting (and unlike MK, I don't think EC needs the gore to keep its identity; after all, the original Genesis game was pretty tame).

The selected one-button special mechanic makes sense to me as the creation of a team unfamiliar enough with fighting games that joystick moves are legitimate obstacle to doing moves but aren't confident enough to just remove joystick moves entirely

I cannot wait for the online only, live service trend to be over. I do believe there can be good live service games, but right now every AAA publisher is trying to get themselves the next Fortnite without really looking into what players actually want. It's just depressing to think about how many studios will close and how many creatives will lose their jobs before the money people finally get it through their heads that "more like THIS" isn't working and is killing the entire industry.

I remember waiting about 12 years for Street Fighter 3 to come out. I remember playing on Playstation. I remember not enjoying it despite the impressive visuals because SF Alpha 1 and 2 had been so good and probably was what 3 should have been. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I had seen great strides with Tekken, Bloody Roar, and the Vs. games... only to be let down by Street Fighter. Now I understand why. Those poor bastards got stuck on a project that was too big for them and that shouldn't have happened. Or happuned.
